• Where is the Hotel Breitenburg located?

  The Hotel Breitenburg is located in Breitenburg, Schleswig-Holstein, about an hour’s drive from Hamburg. The hotel is situated directly on the grounds of the Schloss Breitenburg Golf Club. The address is: Gut Osterholz 1, 25524 Breitenburg.

• What makes the Hotel Breitenburg special?

• Is the Hotel Breitenburg a castle hotel?

  The Hotel Breitenburg is located on the historic Osterholz estate. The nearby Breitenburg Castle is about a five-minute walk away and is still inhabited today by the zu Rantzau family. The combination of modern architecture, expansive natural surroundings, and the historic castle grounds defines the hotel’s unique character.

• Is the Hotel Breitenburg a good choice for a short getaway?

  Yes. The hotel is ideal for weekend getaways, wellness retreats, golf weekends, and romantic getaways in northern Germany.

• Is Wi-Fi available at the hotel?

  Yes, free Wi-Fi is available to guests throughout the hotel.

• Is the Hotel Breitenburg a non-smoking hotel?

  All rooms are non-smoking. Smoking is permitted in outdoor areas.

• Is the Hotel Breitenburg dog-friendly?

  Dogs are warmly welcome at the Hotel Breitenburg. All rooms on the ground floor are designated as dog-friendly rooms. The restaurant also has separate areas where guests can dine with their dogs. We charge € 20,00 per dog per day (food not included) to cover the additional costs. For further information or special requests, we recommend contacting the hotel.

  For the comfort and consideration of all our guests we kindly ask that dogs be kept on a leash at all time throughout the Hotel premises.

• Do all rooms have air conditioning?

  Yes, every room is equipped with a modern air conditioner, allowing you to heat and cool individually.

  You can easily adjust the room temperature to your comfort using the touchpad on the wall.

  Quick Start Guide:

  • Set your desired temperature: Press the red arrow key to increase the heat or the blue arrow key to cool down.
  • Fan speed levels (0–3): The fan strength determines how quickly the heated or cooled air circulates.
    • Level 0: The system is completely turned off (no heating or cooling).
    • Level 1 to 3: Adjusts the fan speed from gentle airflow to high performance.

  
  Important Note on Fresh Air (Window Sensors):
  If you open the window, the smart system detects it immediately. A window icon will appear on the touchpad, and the climate control unit turns off automatically to save energy. Once the window is fully closed, the system resumes working instantly.

• Can I get to the hotel by public transportation?

  Yes. Itzehoe Station offers connections to Hamburg and other cities. The station is located about 6 km from the hotel. The hotel does not offer its own shuttle service — taxi companies in the area are available upon request.

• Are there parking spaces at the hotel?

  Yes. There are ample parking spaces available around the hotel for a fee. For guests with electric vehicles, we offer specially designated EV parking spaces with paid charging stations.

• When will the room be ready on the day of arrival?

  Your rooms will be available starting at 3:00 p.m.

• By what time must the room be vacated on the day of departure?

  We ask that you check out of your room by 11:00 a.m.

• Is early check-in or late check-out possible?

  Late check-out until 2:00 p.m. can be arranged upon request for € 35,00 per room. Early check-in is possible as soon as the room has been cleaned — no later than 3:00 p.m.

• How does check-in work?

  To ensure a stress-free arrival, please feel free to use our online check-in. When you arrive, all you’ll need to do is pick up your room key at the front desk. The front desk is staffed daily from 6:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. For arrivals outside these hours, our check-in kiosk, located right next to the front desk, is available for your use.

• What are the cancellation policies?

Payment

• What payment methods does the Hotel Breitenburg accept?

  At Restaurant Johann, we accept charges to your hotel room, EC cards, as well as Mastercard, Visa, and gift certificates. At the hotel front desk, you can pay conveniently in cash, by EC card, debit card, Mastercard, Visa, or gift certificate.

• Can I redeem a gift certificate?

  Yes. Gift certificates can be redeemed for overnight stays, packages, and spa treatments. Please enter the gift certificate code when booking online or present the gift certificate at the front desk when you check in.

• Is it possible to buy gift cards?

  Yes. Gift certificates for stays, spa treatments, and packages can be purchased online at hotel-breitenburg.mews-giftvoucher.com, by phone at +49 (0)4828 7843-0 or directly at the front desk.

• When is the amount charged for online bookings?
